Country Coordinator: The Rev Lydiah Kamau
The Order was first introduced to Kenya by Dr. Deborah Ajakaiye in 2001, when she responded to an invitation from the Berea Theological College near Nairobi. With the consent of the Bishop, a chapter was formed at the Theological College, and another in the Diocese of Machakos. One of the seminarians, the Rev. Mercy Wangechi, found her mission in the development of Daughters of the King chapters; her work and that of her coworkers has been richly blessed. in January of 2005 Dr. Ajakaiye presented 15 charters, including two junior chapters, to a joyful gathering in Kenya. The Rt. Rev. Dr. Gideon Githega personally received the vows of these Daughters, and chapters continue to be added in Kenya.
Footnote: The Country Coordinator, The Rev Lydiah Kamau, has now moved to the United States. Unfortunately, we no longer have contact with any Daughters in Kenya.
The Rev. Mercy Maina, Country Coordinator for Kenya since 2013 has moved to Missouri.
She recently received a grant through the Self-Denial fund to purchase musical
instruments for the Kenyan Anglican Fellowship that she founded.
She will be praying for Triennial this week on behalf of the Kenyan Daughters.
