Sunday, January 20th 2013 was a day of great celebration at the Cathedral of St. Luke in Panama City, Panama. The St. Clare Chapter was instituted by National DOK Chaplain, Bishop Sylvestre Romero. Also participating in the service were Diocesan Bishop Julio Murray, the Dean of the Cathedral and Chaplain of the St. Clare Chapter, Reveranda Maiziee Lennon, and retired Diocesan of Panama, Bishop James Ottley.
Three Daughters from the US were the impetus for starting the new chapter: Vicki Sizemore from Florida, Belinda Clemens from Colorado and Francis Wilson from Virginia were all active Daughters prior to moving to Panama. With the assistance of the International DOK Chairwoman, Emily Thrasher, the three women undertook to bring DOK to Panama. Through their efforts and by the grace of God, five new Daughters were admitted to the Order on the 20th.
This is the first DOK chapter in Panama since the late 70's when a chapter disbanded. Hopes are to spread the prayer, service and evangelism of the St. Clare Chapter to include women across the nation of Panama. Please pray for your new sisters in Christ, Chaplain Lennan and the spread of God's kingdom in Panama!

The St. Clare Chapter celebrated their first year of service as part of the Cathedral of St. Luke community in Panama City, Panama on Sunday, January 26, 2014. They printed and made available prayer request forms in Spanish and English. In addition, they donated the money to refurbish one of the Cathedral's original pews. The money was donated from their weekly offerings at their meetings.
The Chapter is presenting two gifts to Reverenda Lennan, Dean of the Cathedral.
