Triennial 2018 Speakers & Special GuestsSpeakers
The Rev. Canon Stephanie Spellers is an Episcopal priest, author and popular speaker known for fueling radical welcome across the ecumenical spectrum. She serves as the Presiding Bishop's Canon for Evangelism and Reconciliation, spearheading Episcopal efforts to share the good news of God's inclusive love with new communities in new ways.
Canon Carrie Boren Headington is the founder of The Good News Initiative which provides resources in evangelism. She has a passion to see people come to know the abounding unconditional love of God. Carrie speaks throughout the US and around the globe, sharing the abundant life found in Jesus Christ with spiritual seekers and Christians alike. She addresses topics that burn in the human heart and mind, such as: how do we know God exists, who was Jesus really, finding purpose and peace in life, where is God when life hurts, the reliability of the Bible, how can we be agents for justice in an unjust world, and finding joy and strength in everyday life through Jesus. She works with all Christian denominations and serves as Canon for Evangelism in the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas and Consulting Evangelist for Revivals for The Episcopal Church engaging in evangelistic speaking, apologetics, and equipping congregations to be the hands, feet, and mouthpieces for God in their everyday lives.
Carrie currently serves on the boards of Langham Partnership USA (The global ministry formed by John Stott), Anglicans for Life, The Living Church Foundation, UNITE (an ecumenical justice movement in Dallas) and Gateway of Grace (refugees in Dallas ministry). Carrie is married to Greg, founder of the Global Faith Project, a ministry serving inner city Dallas, Cuba, N. Africa, France, and Latin America. Together they share a lifelong commitment to caring for the poor and equipping the church to be good news.
Through her ministry, Lollie Twyman has come to know the importance of prayer as the foundation for all mission activities. She currently chairs the Diocesan World Mission Committee for the Diocese of Fort Worth, having done so since 1998. In addition, Lollie serves on the Board of Trustees of both the Society of Anglican Missionary Senders (SAMS) and the New Wineskins Missionary Network (NWS). As a member of Anglican Global Mission Partners (AGMP), she chairs the Mobilizing Task Group that has produced such resources as the Liturgy for Mission and the Parish Mission Leader Certification Program. Lollie remains active in the mission field and has served in Malawi, Mexico, Belize and Cambodia. Her daughter and son-in-law, Summer and Guy Benton, serve as SAMS missionaries in Cambodia and New Zealand.
Lollie finds inspiration and encouragement in her ministry from scripture. Her favorite verse is Revelation 7:9.
After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne, and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.
